has appeared in the first 19th century. At that time, this major is
part of mechanical engineering. F.W. Taylor is father of industrial engineering
that find the method to increase productivity by change the tool that to take
material production. The next development is identification activity by some of
worker the activity like take, catch, put, save etc. With this activity can be
hoped to minimalize production time that is done by worker.
The Industrial
Engineering always grows until this time. The definition of industrial
engineering according to IIE, industrial engineering is concerned with the
design, improvement and installation of integrated systems of people,
materials, information, equipment and skill in the mathematical, physical &
social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering
analysis & design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be
obtained from such systems. In my opinion, Industrial engineering is the
science that has vision to manage 5 M (Method, Machine, Material, Man, Money)
to reach outcome maximally.

has a various workspace from PPIC, QC, production supervisor etc. Actually, the
bachelor of industrial engineering is educated become an entrepreneur or the
man who can build company that useful for people. But whatever their profession
depend on what did they choose. If the expert of mechanical engineering designs
mechanical systems very well and the architect designs about building systems
